TRX is pleased to inform you that as an active Independent Contractor you are eligible for enrollment in our Independent Contractor Insurance Programs that are facilitated by TRX through settlement deductions. These programs cover Non-Trucking Liability (NTL) and Physical Damage Insurance. Both programs are administered by Gallagher Transportation Services; Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. (AJG).
In addition to the truck related insurance, TRX also facilitates an Occupational Accident program that is also administered by Gallagher and underwritten through the AIG Insurance Group of Companies. Please note that this type of insurance will be required for all contractors by September 1, 2008.
TRX believes the value Gallagher is able to provide in both improved coverage and reduced costs combined with the ease of settlement deduction will make the Occupation Accident program a viable option to you as an independent business person. Monthly cost to you as an Independent Contractor is paid via settlement deductions.
Please see the Occupational Accident Summary of Benefits for an overview of the benefits provided. Enrollment is simple by just completing the Occupational Accident Enrollment form and returning it to your Terminal Manager. Questions specific to coverage should be directed to AJG by calling (800) 279-7500 and asking for the Insurance Coordinator for TRX.
Please Note: Coverage for the Non-Trucking Liability (bobtail) Insurance will be underwritten by Certain Underwriters, Lloyds London. The Non-Trucking Liability policy limit is $1,000,000.
Please Note: Physical Damage coverage will be underwritten by Great American Assurance Company
This coverage includes:
Collision and Comprehensive
$1,000 Deductible
$10,000 Towing & Storage (in the event of a covered accident)
All coverages listed above are subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions as outlined in the policy.
TRX now has a Rider Program!
In the past TRX has had a “ No Passenger Policy ” in effect mostly due to the requirements of our insurance company. Recently we have learned that if handled properly and according to the federal regulations it is entirely possible to allow passengers. There is now a form available (see our Safety Documents page) that can be filled out on a PER TRIP BASIS by contractors. Simply fill out the form and return it to safety. Please Note: No passenger shall be authorized by TRX without first completing this form.
As an additional note on this subject, the new Occupational Accident insurance policy from AIG includes coverage for passengers but it is only valid if they have completed the passenger waiver form prior to the trip. This additional coverage was just added and is included in the premium for this policy. Contractors that do not go with the AIG policy will be responsible for obtaining the proper coverage for their passengers on their own.
No passengers will be allowed without the proper insurance coverage or TRX approval. If you have the proper insurance requirments, and you would like to receive approval from TRX, please complete and submit the Passenger Waiver Form and return it to the Safety Department PRIOR to trip in which you want to take a passenger. Once approved you will receive the approved waiver, signed by an authorized TRX Safety Representative, to carry with you in your truck for the specific trip requested.
REMEMBER...No passenger shall be authorized by TRX without first completing the Passenger Waiver Form and returning it to the Safety Department for endorsement PRIOR to the trip in which you want to take a passenger.
Please see our Safety Documents Page to learn more about any of our Insurance products or to print any of the forms you are interested in.
